Comedy Night @ Downham Market Town Hall on behalf of the One to One Project.
Joann Condon promises we will laugh and cry in her self-written one woman show, “Little Boxes.” Joann has had many well-known roles and has starred in The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus alongside Heath Ledger and Jonny Depp, Little Britain, Skins, Cradle to the Grave, Casualty, The Bill, Harry Hills shark infested custard, The Office, Edge of Heaven and Trial and Retribution.
“Little Boxes” is a humorous look at conditioning and how as human beings we like to fit ourselves and others into “boxes” and assign things to often restrictive categories. “My new one woman show lifts the lid on all the little boxes that are created for us: Mum, woman, actor, writer, comic, cook, cleaner… who am I… and who are you… really?” .
The audience is encouraged to think outside the box when it comes to putting labels on people based on appearance, occupation or age. Whilst the subject matter is not unfamiliar the comedic way in which Joann presents it serves as an important and entertaining reminder.
